Carter grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he cultivated a love for theatre at a young age. He trained in both the Louisiana State University School of Theatre and School of Music, and graduated from LSU having worked on many productions as an Actor, Singer, Sound Designer, and Director. Carter was a Sound Design Apprentice at Hangar Theatre in Ithaca, NY.
Carter moved to New York City and trained at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting, while establishing himself as a freelance Sound Designer. Carter made many wonderful friends and artistic collaborators in New York, working in numerous Off-Broadway and Off-Off-Broadway theaters in NYC, as an Actor, Sound Designer, A1 mixer, audio overhire, and general audio engineer. These theaters include wild project, Rattlestick Theatre, Puerto Rican Traveling Theatre, 59E59 Theaters, La MaMa, NY Summerfest, and more.
Carter moved to Los Angeles in 2019 to pursue more artistic opportunities and has worked with the Art of Acting Studio, Harold Clurman Lab, Antaeus Theatre, and Pacific Resident Theatre to name a few.
Carter hopes to always pursue work using his talents and ambitions as a creator with generosity and humility, while pursuing an artistic vision with an ever collaborative spirit.
